Who are these ‘hard to reach people?’ I’m often asked for tips on how to engage the “hard to reach”. Just now walking into Sweetgreen a man asked if had change. I told him I never carry money nowadays since so much is done w/the phone. I asked if he wanted something to eat.

This is heartbreaking, @cdambrosio2. We have a 4-year-old daughter and think about this a lot, but we need all of society to change this perspective. #WomenInMedicine

Structural racism is a key driver of health inequity. We use the framework of a “COVID-19 prevention cascade” to map out factors rooted in anti-Black racism and provide a roadmap for achieving racial equity in #COVID19 outcomes, for NYC and beyond. @nychealthcmo

Insane! I’m sorry someone said this to you. Being a parent is all about being a good human who can interact in a loving way with people who may not be acting so loving towards you. And about saying sorry when you mess up. This is exactly what all leaders need to do.
Today I had a preceptor say: “It is my opinion that females in medicine cannot become department chairs or deans and also have a family. Doing both well is not possible.” I’m proud to be a woman in medical school, but sometimes it can feel so discouraging 😔

Honestly it doesn’t sit well with me that the person who wrote this tweet issued a weak ‘apology’ and then slid off of Twitter. If they are seeing patients and in charge of trainees, I need to know that @ColumbiaMed is making sure said patients and trainees are safe.
