Ive been seeing a lot of confusion about the Space King Boardgame Kickstarter. So I've decided to give everyone some key information regarding pledging to the campaign and doing your part for Space King! -The "Recruit" tier only gives you the board game for $20 off. If you want stretch goal rewards and extras, you have to get the "Psycho Warrior" tier or higher. -You will NOT be charged immediately upon pledging. Instead, your card will be charged when the Kickstarter ends on September 25th at 5 PM PST. -Upon checkout, you can split the payment into 3 separate charges paid once a month. So, if you get the Psycho Warrior edition for $299, you will pay around $99.67 each month for 3 months starting on the 25th instead of having to pay the full sum all at once. -Reminder that this is a purchase you will not receive until December 2027 (with KS projects, you could receive your stuff earlier or later than this as this is just an estimate). So, do not buy in and expect to paint models in a month or two. This is a buy and forget kind of thing. -I can personally confirm that @FlashgitzAnims has an amazing track record when it comes to choosing good manufacturing companies when it comes to merch and figures. Their larger Psycho Warrior model released earlier this year was of great quality and with this high of a backing they should be able to provide some good minis. -The miniatures are made of high quality PVC. Compared to Games Workshop's Polystyrene plastic, PVC is a softer vinyl plastic. I will admit, this is a cheaper material that most mass produced tabletop games use for miniatures such as Gloomhaven and Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. They're pretty simple to work on and possibly simpler than GW minis, honestly. Here are just a few tips regarding painting PVC minis: 1. PVC does not react to plastic glue. You must use super glue. Luckily this wont be an issue since Space King minis come pre-assembled. 2. You must wash the minis with soap, an old toothbrush/sponge, and warm water before priming so the primer will stick better. Basically like you do with resin. 3. Warping/bending with thinner parts (like swords or antenas) can happen with PVC minis, however it's a super easy fix. Simply put the messed up part in a bowl of hot water (just below boiling) for 10-30 seconds. It should automatically correct itself. Then immediately dunk it in a bowl of ice cold water for 20-30 seconds to set the position. And those are all the tips I have for supporting the Space King Boardgame on Kickstarter.
