Agnikul aims to launch 100 rockets a year by 2030. They have a patent to design + manufacture single-piece rocket engines in the US and India. Nobody else can do it. Their booster, Agnite, is printed as a single component in one go. It's the largest such engine in the world to ever be hot-fired. This engine, along with their smaller Agnilet (which powered the Agnibaan SOrTeD suborbital test flight), is what will enable Agnikul (@AgnikulCosmos) to achieve their target of 100 Agnibaan orbital flights per year by 2030 (1.92 per week), with a lifespan of 25 flights per reusable vehicle. Space is full of cancer tanks. Roughly half of all active satellites in space with propulsion use a hydrazine-family fuel (barring Starlink, which uses Hall-effect thrusters). Hydrazine is extremely carcinogenic, which is why an Indian company, Manastu Space (@ManastuSpace) is on a mission to replace it with something safer. Their proprietary hydrogen peroxide-alcohol propellant, MS289, is a green fuel engineered for high reliability. Alongside MS289, they've designed a family of cutting-edge propulsion systems: - GP-LAM (TRL 5) for launch vehicle upper stages - Sharanga (TRL 7) for 3U to 10U satellites - I-Booster (TRL 7) for 100 to 500 kg satellites - Vyom 2U (TRL 8) for 5U to 24U satellites We visited Manastu's manufacturing and R&D facility in Navi Mumbai to explore these systems and see how they're building the future of green space propulsion right here in India.

🚨 Bengaluru-based Vishwatronix (@vishwatronix_in) has developed Pinaka, a 5 kg remote weapon station for quadruped robots. It offers 360 degrees of rotation, day/night vision and AI-assisted target tracking, while keeping firing control with the soldier.

Thank you for the constructive input Rajiv. The second one is easier to implement. For any company we're in touch with directly, we could ask them what TRL they're at and share the same in our post. The first one is a more complex question/answer. Many "Indian" components are sourced from Indian vendors who have imported the component, without any alteration, from an international vendor. So the receipt says the component is Indian, even though the actual origin isn't Indian. This is how you can have a 100% BOM indigenous product that is actually not indigenous. The startup bought everything from Indian vendors, but those vendors didn't make the components in India. Even if a component was fabricated in India though, the materials it was made from may not originate in India. The further back you go in the supply chain, the less likely it is that the founder of the company RuntimeBRT is featuring actually knows the origin of their product (at a raw material level). All of this to say, "Indian vs. imported" is not a black and white thing. The team and I will discuss this though and see if we can come up with some kind of scoring system or criteria. Perhaps if we implement such a system, it will indirectly incentivise companies to work on localising their supply chain. -Caleb

It has a max speed of 5 m/s, and a payload capacity 10 kg for all terrains. This wheeled variant has been in R&D for three months, and xTerra is actively piloting DHAV-Hy in industries for inspection.

🚨 Bengaluru-based Dheya Engineering Technologies has just raised ₹43 crore rupees in a funding round led by Avaana Capital. They have developed 200N and 500N micro turbojet engines, with flight trials planned for Q4 of 2026 and confirmed OEM orders from India and overseas.

🚨 Lingampalli Himaja, a 20-year-old student from Andhra Pradesh, has just won India’s 2026 James Dyson Award for RUDHRA, a voice-controlled Braille printer. It uses Alexa to convert speech into text, and a Raspberry Pi translates that into Braille and embosses it onto paper.

🚨 Coimbatore-based GOAT Robotics (@goat_robotics) has just unveiled GT-XP, an autonomous pallet-handling robot capable of moving payloads of up to 5 tonnes. It uses SLAM navigation, LiDAR, an IMU, wheel encoders and a depth camera to autonomously pick, move and place pallets

🚨 Hyderabad-based Beijan has just raised ₹1.7 crore rupees in their pre-seed round from AJVC. They’re building BANM, a sub-200g module that can attach to any drone and keep it navigating when GPS is jammed or spoofed, using onboard visual odometry instead of satellite signals.

This is India's most advanced electric tactical vehicle, VEER. The company behind it, Pravaig Dynamics (@pravaigdynamics), has come a long way. They began R&D in 2011 and rose to prominence in 2020 when they unveiled a concept car, Extinction MK1. Today, six years later, the company's order book is extensive. Defence customers are very keen to add Pravaig's indigenously developed and manufactured flagship EV to their fleets. 🚨 IIT Bombay’s AUV team has won the Wildcard Challenge at RoboSub 2026 in California, competing against 58 teams from 9 countries. The team deployed two autonomous underwater vehicles, Matsya 7 and Mini Matsya, operating in parallel to complete underwater tasks.

Most large businesses in India use a mix of filters and chemicals to treat wastewater. Billions of litres undergo treatment every day before being discharged back into India's rivers and groundwater. A Maharashtra-based company, Indra (@IndraWaterIndia), has patented an alternative solution that allows industries to recycle water instead of dumping it. Their line of electrochemical reactors, called ElectroX, use non-contact micro-electrolysis to purify and recycle water so that it can be reused for things like flushing toilets, irrigation and gardening, cleaning, cooling towers, HVAC, boilers, and industrial processes across textiles, metals, and pharma. Indra's ElectroX reactors are now being used across India, Indonesia, and Vietnam, and they plan to continue their global expansion in the coming months and years.
