Heads up for all those using my feed during severe weather. My posts getting throttled here quite a bit when there are a lot of warnings. Please follow my FB feed for more info. Nothing I can do about it.
It's another chilly morning in the 40s and 50s with a little light fog to watch for. We'll again warm rapidly and should reach the lower 80s this afternoon. Low dew points and light wind will make for another quiet but warm day.
Hurricane #Isaias will get a lot of the national attention this week and rightfully so. I'm actually watching to see what happens in the Pacific though. The future hurricane Simon west of Mexico could be the next wave of energy to impact us middle of next week.
FIRST ALERT to some record highs within reach both Friday & Saturday. SSW gusts near and over 30 mph will help us get there with low dew points. We'll see how it trends the next few days.
FIRST ALERT to breezy conditions still expected Saturday. SSW Gusts easily top 30 mph and could touch 40 mph at times in the afternoon. Extra weights for the tents! Then temperatures surge into the upper 80s by the end of the game. I don't expect much humidity though.
FIRST ALERT to another warm day with highs in the 80s likely again. That's after a cool start in the 50s. Dew points stay low and the wind will be lighter out of the north.
Cool temperatures in the 50s this morning will warm into the 80s again this afternoon with low humidity and light wind. Mostly sunny sky will be the story along with that as we dry out a little more.
It looked like such a great fall week in the forecast when we looked at it last week. Unfortunately the dry air can really really warm up fast and it's doing just that. We've had to lean 5-8 degrees warmer than most models given how much we've warmed the last few days.
FIRST ALERT to a big summer feel to this upcoming October weekend. South wind gusts will be noticeable Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will be 10-15 degrees above average as well.
FIRST ALERT to what looks to be very warm and windy Saturday in Lincoln. Wind gusts in the 30-40 mph range from the SSW will give you fits while tailgating. Impacts to the kicking game are in play too. Temperatures surge well into the 80s during the game. #Huskers
A light north breeze will feel pretty good Wednesday but First Alert to a good amount of warmth on the way still. Highs in the lower 80s with pleasant dew points should feel better than Tuesday.
Get ready for more and more warming this afternoon. We'll start in the 50s and surge into the 80s later today. The SSW wind will gust to near 20 mph this morning then the dew points will surge some later this afternoon. It will be a muggy end to the day.
Temperatures will warm quickly from the 50s this morning to the 70s by lunch eventually jumping a little further into the 80s by the afternoon. Dew points will gradually increase this afternoon too. SSW wind gusts near 20 mph are likely this morning too.
Early look at the forecast for that big game in Lincoln vs Indiana at 11am this Saturday. Warming up quickly with SSW wind gusts 30-35 mph by the afternoon. That likely drags us into the 80s. I could see this trending warmer too.
On this day (Oct 5th) two years ago we tied the record for the hottest recorded temperature in October in Omaha's history. We'll be nearly 20 degrees cooler today. (Oct 3rd, 1938 was the other day we tied btw)
Above average highs are likely all week long with Thursday likely to be the coolest. Dew points spike Tuesday PM into Wednesday before bouncing around into the weekend.
FIRST ALERT to Tuesday being the warmest day of the week. Highs in the lower 80s will be very warm for October with dew points that should steadily climb through the day as well. SSW gusts to 20-25 mph are possible at times but shouldn't be an all day thing.
