Good morning Web3 As you all know by now, many people across the NFT community were affected by the recent @MagicEden exploit. If you hold @AzukiApe and were affected by this, please feel free to come forward and provide us with the ETH address where you were holding your Azuki Apes. This is specifically for anyone whose Azuki Apes were stolen by the hacker through the Magic Eden exploit. If this happened to you, please come forward and reach out to us through our official Discord or Telegram. The vulnerability existed in Limit Break's Payment Processor V2 contract. A.I is good for many things. Unfortunately, it has also become an extremely powerful tool for hackers to find vulnerabilities in shitty, garbage, badly written, copy-and-paste smart contracts. Some people like @0xQuit have stepped forward and helped with this problem, and we are all truly grateful to have people like that around in this space. But let's be realistic: do you really think Magic Eden or any marketplace is always going to be able to give you back what you lost? Once something is stolen on-chain, what you lost may simply be gone—even if you didn't connect your wallet to some random website or knowingly approve something malicious. This is exactly why Azuki Apes thought about these situations when we created our smart contract three years ago. Our smart contract was written specifically for Azuki Apes. It wasn't simply another copy-and-paste NFT contract thrown together and deployed. Time and effort went into building it because even three years ago, we understood where technology was heading and how powerful AI would eventually become. Unfortunately, AI is extremely good at finding vulnerabilities in badly written code. The Azuki Apes smart contract includes a burn mechanism for situations where action against compromised NFTs may become necessary. If an attack like this affects our holders, and after everything is properly verified on-chain, we have mechanisms in the contract that can potentially allow us to burn the affected NFTs and mint those NFTs again with the same token numbers and traits back to their legitimate holders. Yes, this takes time. Yes, it costs gas money to burn affected NFTs and mint them back. And yes, every single case has to be properly verified before anything is done. Three years ago, we knew something like this was eventually going to happen—and now we are watching it happen across Web3. Cold wallets are being attacked. Exchanges are being hacked. Smart contracts are being exploited. NFTs are being stolen. We thought about these possibilities when we created the Azuki Apes smart contract. Because when you buy an Azuki Ape, you aren't only buying an NFT. You're also buying into an experienced team, security, preparation, and a team that actually gives a shit about its holders. If your Azuki Apes were stolen specifically because of this exploit, come forward and contact us through Discord or Telegram with the ETH address that held your Apes. We will look into it. Man, I loved this show. In 8th grade I illustrated Earthworm Jim with a watercolor Snott erupting out of Jim’s backpack. It was one of the few pieces I ever made that I was proud of. Wish I still had it. Loved the video game too.
