Having been in the prepper scene as the token normie when the pandemic hit I fully endorse this guide.
All the blackpilling on my TL has me worried some of you will turn into preppers, so here's a get-it-over-with list by a former hardcore prepper that'll let you scratch that itch then move on with your life.

Apocalypse Prepping: From Temu to Gucci

A few years back, I quit prepping -- I quit doing it, I quit writing about it, I quit doing press about it, I quit being part of the scene, and I generally just hit eject on anything and everything

I am growing weary of claims that AI is supporting the economy. As I see it, the economy is being floated on a big fat glob of debt--humongous glob of debt. It will end poorly, IMO.

Your window to prepare, even with the basics, is closing. For those tracking the indicators that an event is increasingly likely, you know that it is now undeniable that something is brewing. It has now reached the point to where national governments are now overtly telling civilians to make preparations, however basic. As part of my career in the US intelligence community, one of things I supported was Counterintelligence threats to Continuity of Government (COG) and Continuity of Operations (COOP). Something i can say for absolute certain is that once governments signal that their citizens need to prepare, those preparations have already been conducted for national leadership. Governments plan for two course of action; bug in and bug out. Bug in involves hunkering down where they are. They lock down the facility. No one in and no one out. Bug out involves the relocation to a secure location that is away from potential threats, which includes hungry people. They lock down. No one in. No one out. It would be wise for you to assess your current situation and decide the appropriate course of action for yourself and family. What has been happening over the past several years is that the affluent have been making their own preparations for crisis, including efforts to secure survivable locations away from major population centers, storing food, water, and the means to defend those locations. The most recent loud signals are likely our last real warning. Governments from Eastern Europe to the UK are now telling people to have the basics on hand to weather a bad situation. Notably, this is on the back drop, for those that remember, when "prepping" was aligned with anti-government extremism under the Obama administration. What you will notice over the next several weeks is the expanding time period that governments call for people to prepare. In Europe, its currently between 3 days and a week. However, the US just sent the loudest signal concerning how significant the situation is; military bases must be self-sufficient for 90 days. The gravity of this can't be understated. The calls for preparedness will escalate in their time frames. 3 days will turn into a week. A week will turn in to a few weeks. A few weeks into a couple months. What Americans should know is that you will be on your own. FEMA does not have the resources to help people in a time of need during an event at national scale. You local authorities don't either. For those in major cities, you should know that almost two decades ago now the Asymmetric Warfare Group, in collaboration with the US military, conducted a study on the process that major population centers descend into chaos, anchored on the current "just in time" supply chain. In 3 days, a major city is out of food in the major stores. Looting starts, first whats left on shelves, then people start taking from one another. Suburbia is then the next harvest location. People organize and target food distribution warehouses. Then people head out into the country where people are prepared and things get ugly. My recommendation for people is to not focus on the "what", the catalyst for crisis. Focus on being prepared and prepare quietly. Those who fail to prepare will target those who they know are. This includes your own family members. You, at some point, will hear, "well if something happens, I'll just come to your house", stated as a joke. But this is not a joke. You have now become someone's backup plan. Don't allow this. Right now, you need to shift your mental paradigm. Randomize when you go to the store. Avoid dark hours. Slow down how many times Amazon deliveries show up at your house. And start to think about how to feign poverty. Affluence/comfort has a signature that is easy to spot and smell. You can't prepare forever. Even governments don't do that. What you need to do is prepare to weather the storm. As the saying in the military goes, "KISS"; Keep It Simple, Stupid. Water, rice, protein, canned foods. Then think basic medicines for colds, flu, and infections. Then think protection and communications. You don't need thousands of dollars, you just need to be smart. I've recommended this before, but I will say it again. Go watch two movies; "The Day After" and "Threads". This is not to scare you. This is so you can notice the indicators leading up to crisis. They are quiet at first. Governments say everything is fine. Then they say have basic preparations. Then they say have more because help wont be coming immediately. Most people will brush it off and just say it will pass. We are now at the part of both movies where governments are telling people to prepare and some degree of panic is setting in. This will get worse. You must identify your phase line for action. Assuming, in any way, that crisis will hit and the government will show up to rescue you is a mistake. Turn that fear you are feeling into focused action. For those that are prepared, keep preparing and be quiet. For those that are unprepared, start now and be quiet. For everyone, hang in there. Its going to get rough. 🥃

It is noteworthy that Dimon found it necessary to even publicly make this point. In 1995, when I started in finance...or 2000...or 2005... or 2010...or even 2015, Dimon would have never had to say this because it would've been as redundant as saying "the sun rises in the east."
Jamie Dimon to a country that pulled its gold out of New York: you have three armies within 400 miles, while gold in America is protected by two oceans and the US military “If we have the strongest military in the world and the strongest economy in the world, we will be the preeminent reserve currency. It is those two things.” “I was in a country somewhere in the Middle East, and also in Europe, and the people said, we took our gold out of the vaults in New York City and moved it to our country. You know what I said to him? I said, you have three armies within 400 miles who can come take your gold.” “That’s the real world. You’re not thinking clearly about safety. That gold is protected by the Atlantic, the Pacific, the United States military, the rule of law.” “But if we are not the preeminent military and economy, you will see our reserve status come down.”

Israel exists to profit from war. Period.
BREAKING: Netanyahu could lose tomorrow's election and remain prime minister anyway, with Trump backing a unity government that would keep him in power alongside Gadi Eisenkot, an outcome his camp is pushing vigorously and has a sympathetic ear in Trump, per WaPo. In conversations with US officials, Netanyahu has argued that he is the best Israeli partner to help resume the war against Iran. Trump allies say that even if Eisenkot refuses, Netanyahu will stay on as caretaker prime minister, restart the Iran war and seek to force another vote.

Socialism is the belief that Amazon workers would have spontaneously created Amazon if Jeff Bezos didn't exist.
“Socialism never works.” Well, it never works to bring prosperity, peace or liberty. But it does work to bring a lot of power and prestige to a very few politicians and bureaucrats.

Hey @grok, can you estimate all the federal income taxes paid by people employed by the companies listed in Bernie Sanders' post, for the low-information voters who believe this charlatan!
If you paid $1 in federal income taxes last year, you paid more than: Disney American Airlines Citigroup CVS DoorDash GoDaddy H&R Block HP Kohl’s Ticketmaster Palantir PayPal Roku Southwest Airlines Tesla United Airlines Pizza Hut Taco Bell KFC Absurd. We need REAL tax reform.

Gold is absolutely scarce at these prices! 99%+ of gold supplies on earth remain below ground. In the core of the earth. There are asteroids with gold. There are fusion reactors who can produce this now too. But gold is scarce because there are limits to what can be obtained. The core of the earth is impossible to get to. The asteroid fantasies are hundreds or thousands of years away. If even possible today, the propulsion systems do not exist, it would cost billions per ounce. As far as the fantasy below goes? This is far away in the future with current estimated costs near $1/2 billion per ounce. Gold remains a scarce commodity. Precious money. Nothing will change in our lifetimes.
Soooooo - Gold was fucked after all? By the way these reports of Gold being synthetically created (molecularly similar like what lab grown diamonds are) will destroy any arguments around scarcity. I’m not anti-gold. I’m anti stupid fucking narratives.

#Colts QB Anthony Richardson Sr. has been charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession, per @FOX59. Richardson was pulled over on Oct. 12 for an expired registration. He told police he had smoked marijuana in the vehicle and had a small amount inside, according to court documents. Police found a jar containing marijuana and an opened bag of THC-infused gummies. The charge was filed Monday.

I was naive. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Salvadoran friends told me for years the stories. I didn't fully connect it to the CIA until few years ago. I started reading last decade about geopolitics & drug trade how they linked to all coups and corruption. Deep down I knew, just didn't want to believe it.
You thought he unilaterally jailed all of MS13 a gang full of American diaspora which had turned his state narco and without consulting the CIA/Gang imprisoned 50,000 of them with no negotiation/work with either the CIA or the Cartel heads.

🚨 So let's see: • Manufacture wars. Send oil prices into chaos. • Panic people into hoarding more fiat in their banks. For “safety,” no less. • Manufacture a cyberattack. Blame AI for stealing it all or severely restricting access. • Then magically come to the rescue and promise to make everyone whole with a CBDC. Yup... TOTALLY didn't see that one coming! 🤣
MAJOR US BANKS DETECT AI AGENTS ACCESSING CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS, SOME ACTING WITHOUT USER INSTRUCTIONS Major US banks are detecting third-party AI agents accessing customer accounts, with some appearing to take actions independently of user instructions, according to Axios. Banks are struggling to distinguish human activity from AI agents, determine whether agents have user permission, and identify when an agent has gone rogue. Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, Bank of America, and Citi are restricting third-party AI agents over concerns they could move funds, make purchases, or execute transactions without authorization. One banking executive described the situation as “horrifying,” as financial institutions race to contain the risks posed by increasingly autonomous AI systems.
