[Island-wide Public Testing of SG Alert]
At 12pm later today (10 May), SCDF will conduct island-wide testing for the SG Alert mass emergency alert system.
All Singtel users with phones that are running on the latest Apple or Google Android operating system (iOS 26.4 or OS 12, with the latest Google Play system update) will receive the SG Alert message. The alert will appear as a pop-up notification with the header ‘SG Alert’, accompanied by an alert tone and vibration pattern — bypassing devices’ “Do Not Disturb” or silent mode settings.

The fire involved a coffee shop at the block. The fire was extinguished with 4 water jets.

[CFR commended for putting out fire]
Last month, a rubbish bin caught fire at 672C, Yishun Avenue 4. Mr Mark Chen Qi Xiang, who was in the vicinity quickly retrieved a fire extinguisher from the Lifesavers' Emergency Point and extinguished the fire.
