On #IOAD, we grieve thousands. And that grief must fuel action 💜
People who use drugs, harm reductionists, families & friends keep each other alive on the daily. These efforts needs resourcing, not obstruction and criminalisation.
NO ONE IS DISPOSABLE.

Thematic segment of @UNAIDS' #PCB58 opened with a clear truth: Punishment blocks support.
Defunding care & aid, maintaining punitive measures & pushing communities to the margins derail the HIV response, cost lives.
The pandemic is not over. States must act!

Drug policy must protect life, not take it.🕯️
Ahead of #SupportDontPunish Day, more than 60 organisations call UN drug control bodies to unequivocally condemn the death penalty for drug offences.
As the use of capital punishment for drug offences soars, silence is complicity.

OUR MESSAGE WILL NOT BE IGNORED.
Harm reductionists know what keeps our people alive.
Not more cages or police cars. Not the so-called “tough love” that leaves people uprooted and alienated.
But communities meeting people where they are at, with care and autonomy.
