Was an honor to tour Boro Park with @NYSComptroller Tom DiNapoli yesterday along with community leaders. We visited local small businesses and walked through our bustling 13th Avenue. We also visited local merchants who had funds sitting dormant in the state’s unclaimed funds program and returned their money. Earlier Today @AMLesterChangNY and I, along with over a dozen local community activists, testified on behalf of our communities at the Public Health and Health Planning Council’s hearing on the proposal to give away Maimonides Medical Center, our neighborhood non-profit hospital, to the City of New York. Maimonides has billions of dollars in assets and has been serving our communities for generations. Despite universal local opposition, this bureaucratic appointed committee voted in favor of this back-door giveaway. While we are disappointed with today’s decision, the fight is far from over!

Last night I attended the @BPShomrim Appreciation event and expressed my sincere gratitude to the dedicated Shomrim volunteers who help to keep our communities safe. During the event we surprised NYPD Chief Richie Taylor with an Appreciation Award for his outstanding service.

Attempting to arrest a democratically elected leader is something that’s done in Uganda, not in the United States of America. Perhaps someone can remind Mr. International Law Guy that in New York, as governed by the NYS Criminal Procedure Law (CPL) Article 140, a Mayor cannot directly order the NYPD to arrest any specific individual. Still wondering why hatred against Jews is so high in NYC? We have a mayor who is using government resources to disseminate a narrative and incite hostile propaganda. Mr. International Law guy forgot to include the fact that the Arab world rejected the UN's partition plan to establish a Palestinian state. Instead, they initiated a war to destroy the Jewish state in 1948. Oh BTW, what about the 850,000 Jews that were forced to flee Arab countries during that period?
