Units are currently on scene in the area of E. Capitol Expwy. and Ocala Ave. investigating a fatal hit and run vehicle collision involving a bicyclist. The bicyclist succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. This investigation is active and ongoing.
Road closures will be in place for a significant amount of time. E. Capitol Exwy. at Ocala Ave. will blocked off in all directions.
Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.

On September 6, 2026, SJPD Officers responded to a report of a hate-motivated incident that occurred in the 6400 block of Aspen Creek. The adult female suspect approached a father and his child in her vehicle multiple times and made discriminatory remarks at them.
Officers utilized Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras to identify the associated vehicle and suspect. During the investigation, it was discovered that the same suspect was responsible for a series of other incidents that occurred in the city of San Jose, including an incident at a high school located in south San José on September 9, 2026.
SJPD Assaults Unit Detectives began a comprehensive investigation into all reported incidents and subsequently located and arrested the suspect in the city of San Jose. She was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for multiple crimes, including stalking and hate crimes.
This investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information regarding these cases is asked to contact SJPD Assaults Unit Detectives at (408) 277-4161.
The San Jose Police Department is aware of the allegations circulating online and we remain committed to thoroughly investigating any reports of crime victimizing our community.
