This is my favorite sketch I got on Saturday Night Live. "Guys Behind Bars" (1986) starring Paul Simon and Jon Lovitz, along with Randy Quaid. Some people thought I put too many marks on the walls behind them, but I thought the number of marks was comedy gold.

Have only watched through Update at this point. Zero motivation to finish episode because of how bad the first hour was. Mikey’s massage chair thing was so bad. All he really does these days is try to make people break

Pretty much sucked all around - even weekend update was weak. The "musical" guest act was atrocious.

It had some good moments, some less good. I wasn't keen on the musical guest group (what can I tell you, I'm an old man). Jalen Brunson was surprisingly good, especially in basketball/musical sketch I thought. Jeremy Culhane was good. Sarah Sherman was an eye-popper in SharkTank.

I thought SNL stopped having sports people as hosts, a GREAT decision. Never ever do that again. THEY CAN'T ACT. And I think it is very very hard for the cast to write good skits when they have a sports person who can't act as the host.

Solid effort for a season opener with an athlete hosting. Cast seemed to be having fun. Highlights were high school musical, dream academy, and WE. Cold open was meh. Not enough Marcello.
Newton’s Cradle was a better song than Hootie Fruity or whatever that mess was.
