Sleep itself isn’t necessarily a risk, but prolonged immobilization is. Probably why they told Jalen Hurts don’t sleep.
You know what is a risk for blood clots?
Long flights leading to prolonged immobility + altitude change, especially following trauma (football).
#Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season after several blood clots were revealed in his lungs, has been undergoing tests for days.
Before the London game, Hurts was in the hospital until 4 am and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played without having slept.

How committed is Jalen Hurts to football? After initially being diagnosed with a superficial blood clot in London, doctors told him not to sleep as a precaution, so he had been awake for roughly 36 hours when he started against the Jaguars, throwing for 220 yards and a TD.
