1st half themes... Offensively: heavy misdirection and pocket movement - sprint outs, nakeds, and boots. Defensively: Michigan is dominating the line of scrimmage yet again. If Iowa can't run the ball it's damn sure not going to get things going through the air. And Iowa can't run the football

Michigan thoroughly outplayed Iowa in the 1st half -- 232 yards to 77, 12 first downs to 5, 18:29 TOP to 11:31. But only a 3-point margin to show for it because of penalties and a special teams breakdown. Hawkeyes always seem to find a way to hang around, but if Michigan can play more disciplined coming out of the locker room, it'll win this game comfortably. Anybody's game if it doesn't

2nd down run left meet on the bone. Bouncing it outside instead of cutting upfield may have cost Michigan a 1st down, or at least made it more manageable. Still got a FG out of it. Iowa hasn't really stopped Michigan so far today as much as Michigan has stopped itself.
