Jews get to tell their stories for generations. Books, movies, museums, schools, the whole damn thing. Then they turn around and get to tell the Palestinian story too. Jews write the books. They make the documentaries. They make the movies. They make money off their suffering. And then they get to decide which parts the world hears, which parts get left out, and how everyone is supposed to understand what happened. The most backwards part about it is that they are the ones inflicting the suffering on Palestinians. That’s like the Nazis who carried out the Holocaust getting to make the movies and documentaries about the Holocaust and then telling everyone else how they’re supposed to understand what happened. They don’t just get to control what happens to people. They get to control the story the world hears about what is happening to them. And when you control the story while the suffering is still happening, you’re not just controlling how the past is remembered. You’re controlling how the present is understood.
