WHO ELSE IS NEW ZEALAND LETTING IN?
This should concern every Kiwi.
The terrorist co-pilot (Hammam al-Hammami) accused of attempting to seize and crash a FlyDubai flight bound for Israel, trained right here in New Zealand.
He entered NZ on a student visa and spent almost six months here completing flight training between 2018 and 2019.
Now NZ Police are going back through the records and investigating his time here.
At some point he was radicalised to Islam.
So the obvious question is:
WHO ELSE ARE WE LETTING IN ON STUDENT VISAS?
In the past three years NZ received 284,000+ Student Visa Applications.
New Zealand has every right to properly vet the people we allow through our borders...particularly where there are terrorist concerns.
We must ask point blank at the border...
WHAT IS YOUR RELIGION?
That should include serious questions about extremist beliefs, radicalisation, affiliations and ideology.
We shouldn't be afraid to ask difficult questions because they might offend somebody.
We should not be afraid to turn away anyone with a religion that is not compatible with Christianity.
Border security is not about being polite.
It is about protecting New Zealanders.
We need to know WHO we are letting into this country...and whether our current student-visa and immigration screening is actually good enough.
And here's the question:
Would you be comfortable boarding a plane knowing the pilot came through a visa system that may not have adequately screened for extremist ideology or radicalisation?
