ALT 🌟 Meet Dr. Tomasz Kościółek, our Research Team Leader at #StructuralandFunctionalGenomicsGroup 🧬 🎓 Tomasz graduated with an M.Sc. in chemistry from Jagiellonian University in 2010 and earned his PhD in biological sciences from University College London in 2016. 🔬 His journey included a post-doc at UC San Diego under Rob Knight from 2016 to 2019 and leading a bioinformatics group at the Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology until 2022. 👨‍💻 Tomasz's work involves developing computational methods to explore the human gut microbiome. He has played a major role in the creation of tools such as QIIME 2 and Qiita, pushing the boundaries of machine learning to predict protein function (deepFRI) and model microbiome dynamics. 🔍 Aiming to bridge the gap from genes to therapies, his group is constructing a comprehensive understanding of the microbiome's role in health. 🎥 Curious about how they do it?
