The State's Answer shall be due 30 days of the filing of an amended petition or, if none is filed, the deadline for filing an amended petition. • April 1, 2027 — The last day for petitioner to disclose witnesses, including experts, together with their opinions and reports • May 1, 2027 — The last day for respondent to disclose rebuttal experts, together with their opinions and reports •July 7, 2027 — All discovery requests shall be completed • August 2, 2027 — If no dispositive motions have been adjudicated, the petitioner must contact the court clerk to arrange dates for the status conference and evidentiary hearing. Judge Hippler’s order vacating the DQ hearing in the #BryanKohberger #Idaho4 PCR case notes that that hearing “will reset to a later date.” The hearing has yet to be rescheduled, nor was it addressed in the amended briefing schedule.

The #BryanKohberger court hearing set for tomorrow to DQ the judge was canceled, and an amended scheduling order issued. Initial pleadings now are not due until January 2027 with others extending out until at least August 2027. Documents and dates here. #Idaho4

Some news: After 5-plus years, this past week ended my tenure at the Idaho Statesman. It was the best job I ever had. I volunteered for a buyout after mass layoffs by McClatchy hit our newsroom. What's next, I don't yet know. But I've got an #Idaho4 book in the works. Stay tuned.
