Mark Roberts has been an outstanding Chief Constable and a fantastic servant to Cheshire. Under his leadership, @cheshirepolice has become one of the best-performing forces in the country. That success belongs to Mark, his officers and his staff. Yet Labour’s PCC, having contributed nothing to that success while being perfectly happy to claim credit for it, has decided Mark’s time is up while simultaneously campaigning for his own next political job as Mayor. Mark was only seeking a further one-year extension, taking him to 2028. That would have allowed the new Mayor to take office and make their own decision about the future leadership of Cheshire Police. Instead, Dan Price has chosen to make that decision now. In my view, it reeks of political ambition and appalling judgement. Someone more interested in climbing the political ladder than recognising outstanding public service. Cheshire is losing an excellent Chief Constable. Dan Price should explain exactly why.

The United Kingdom is being invaded.

The situation in the Channel is a national emergency and a total farce. The Government’s failure to deter illegal crossings, while continuing to provide taxpayer-funded accommodation and support, has allowed this crisis to continue. It must stop. A Reform Government will: 1. End welfare entitlement for foreign nationals 2. End asylum hotels and taxpayer-funded accommodation 3. Detain and deport illegal migrants already in Britain 4. Deploy the Royal Navy to stop illegal Channel crossings 5. Leave the ECHR and change the law so illegal entry cannot lead to asylum The only way to stop this madness is to remove the pull factors. Only a @reformparty_uk Government will do that.

The scenes in Gosport and along the south coast last night were chilling. French and British authorities appeared to be coordinating the planned movement of illegal migrants to the UK. This country is being invaded, with our own government actively working against the will of the British people to facilitate it. Credit to the people of Gosport for their peaceful show of strength and for standing up against a clandestine, underhand operation.

Last week, I wrote to the Justice Secretary after senior police officers independently raised serious concerns about the Government’s early-release scheme. They alleged that offenders may be able to avoid electronic monitoring by claiming to be homeless or to have a mental health condition, without any supporting evidence. I asked the Justice Secretary for an urgent answer. So far, silence. @GBNEWS @TalkTV

Only weeks into a four-month driving ban for being in charge of a vehicle while over the legal limits for cannabis and cocaine, this man caused a horrific collision on the Mersey Gateway that could so easily have been fatal. He was driving while disqualified and uninsured, then failed to stop. Yet somehow, he avoided prison. Reform UK will introduce mandatory minimum sentences for serious and repeat offenders and build the prison places needed to keep dangerous offenders behind bars.
