So I’m sure most of you are aware of the meeting Busch Gardens Tampa Bay had offered me several weeks back, which finally only got confirmed last week. Well, late yesterday afternoon, I got a message that left me very concerned about my upcoming meeting. And I soon after got another message stating the same thing: Park President Jon Vigue has been fired… I was in disbelief. I’m supposed to be meeting with HIM SPECIFICALLY in a week. You would think I would’ve received an email if that happened… So I checked my email… and I see a new email from Busch Gardens PR Team, and think to myself, “Oh, no…” I open it to see that they suddenly need to postpone it by a week. What are the chances that I get word that the park president has been fired and also get an email from BGT PR saying they need to postpone my visit on the same day and they’re not connected? Pretty slim, IMO. So I responded with my own email. There has been no response yet from the park, but I sent it late yesterday afternoon, so I didn’t really expect to receive anything yet. One of the things I was going to discuss in the meeting was the fact that they need to be all-around more transparent about what is happening the park. I’m really hoping they’re transparent in their response to my question of whether Jon is no longer with the park. Now is there a chance this could be completely untrue? Absolutely. But I’ve heard the same thing from too many people within a few hours last night, and when you combine that with the email suddenly postponing my meeting around the same time… there’s just too much lining up to make me believe that this is anything but true. Now will we find out the truth from Busch Gardens? That remains to be seen. But if it is in fact true that he has left, this makes him the third president in a row to last only five months. He’s the third president since February of 2025. And the fifth president in three years. There’s seriously problems at this park, and the majority of them stem from United Parks corporate offices. If I hear anything confirming or deny his departure from the BGT PR team, I will let you all know. Keep following along for the latest updates, and if you have any information you’d like to share with me about Busch Gardens, my DMs are always open. Please share this so we can get the word out.

They really need to get their crap together. This park can’t continue on this path at all, it’s destined for failure.

Oh yeah, this does more to confirm my belief that United Parks corporate offices are purposefully attempting to tank this park.

Are “United Parks” and “Seaworld Parks and Entertainment” the same thing or did Seaworld spin them off into something else? I’ve not kept up with all the ownership changes for BGT and SWO

After the pandemic they rebranded from SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment to United Parks & Resorts. Hilarious because they don’t really do resorts lmfao

I don't follow the park super closely, what changes were made or things of note were done during his tenure?

Lots of visual improvements around the park, which were much needed. Most of the employees liked him much more and there was more reports of positive interactions with employees, which I never heard about very often before he was there. He got all the rides up and running again. There will multiple train ops on nearly every ride and they were even operating both loading platforms on Cheetah Hunt on weekdays. Lots of small chances that pass members were noticing and posting about on the FB groups since he arrived in the park. Especially over the past two months when things were really starting to be noticeable.

So…you’re claiming the new president is getting let go based on claims people have made to you. I agree the postponement is odd. However, for you to post this as fact is highly irresponsible, especially for the fact that you’re “media”. Learn media ethics, delete your post, you’ve most likely already caused bad blood between you and them. Dumb move…

You were putting way too much hope in your meeting. He’s is nothing more than a YES man for corporate.. He is not allowed to think for himself or make any changes to the park. Only to do exactly what they say when they say and how they say. All decisions are still made at corp..

This park seems to be taking a run at Six Flags Over Texas’ ineptitude, which burned through six Park Presidents in 12 months after Selim Bassoul took over. One lasted just 10 days from promotion to firing.

When are y'all going to organize a protest outside the park?! It's pretty clear they aren't listening to fans at all and are making boneheaded decision after boneheaded decision! Time for y'all to put your foot down and take action!

It's looking more like they're slowly trying to kill this park for a luxury condo... I hope I am wrong.

I'm glad I marathoned Montu last year in the absence of Kumba... it's a shame what ownership is doing to this park. :(
