Thank You to @GenTXer2 for putting together this #80fromthe1980s project! She worked hard, churning out 7-8 posts every day! It's been a lot of fun. Here is some fun statistics about @GenTXer2 list: • 1986 & 1989 lead with 13 albums each • 57.5% of the list comes from 1985–89 • 1986 dominates the Top 15 with 6 albums • 1989 has 13 entries, but none in the Top 10 • 1984 has only 4 entries, but "Purple Rain" is #3 • 4 of the Top 5 albums come from 1986–87 The biggest takeaway: 1986–87 was clearly the sweet spot. A great list with everything from metal and alternative to hip-hop, new wave, pop and classic rock.
