You have to understand that the downgrade in Protestant thought largely stems from teachers and authorities orienting everything toward the masses. In the end, everything is packaged for mass consumption.
So, you can't follow our forefathers in making distinctions. Everything must be simple and therefore simplistic.
Excellent work from @gavinortlund. I was recently told "you don't seem interested in the Christian political tradition." I've learned what that really means is "you don't seem interested in repristinating Calvin or Rutherford."

Christian Nationalism appears to be rudderless.
I suspect the reason is that they don't have clear directions and mandates from Scripture at the very core of their movement. In the absence of such clear guidance they are subject to the blowing of the wind, the trends of the time, and forced to appeal to niche online group-think (niches that are often syphoned off of the cults of personality of godless influencers).
This is not my opinion of every Christian Nationalist but of the trends in the movement that I see represented by vocal members on X.
"We're saving Christianity. We've saving God. We've saving the family unit. We're saving this nation. I mean, DEI is out of the window…”

What does it mean to be justified by faith alone?
In this brief clip, @RCSproul reveals how we are graciously linked to Jesus—all that He is and all that He has done.
Just a reminder study reports are guidance and not binding in a denomination. The thing that should be binding are the Westminster Standards, but we let everyone take an exception to something.
If a Christian breaks the lawful commands of his nation, a Christian magistrate is under duty to punish him for his lawlessness.
Him fulfilling his duty as a magistrate in this way is not him wronging a brother.
