Everyone is asking: "Why are US bombers *really* leaving this RAF base in England"? Not enough people are asking: "Why are US planes bombing Iran directly from this RAF base in England?"
Breaking News: The U.S. rushed to withdraw its B-1 bombers from an air base in England after commanders received new threats about an Iran-backed plot against the installation, officials said. nyti.ms/4iYtpK9

If Trident test launches went up, instead of sideways, British PM's would probably leap the the opportunity to post something like this.
I'm having fun imagining the meltdown if any British PM posted this.

1/ China reportedly proposed reciprocal visits to nuclear test sites & national labs—a potentially significant and surprising step given active developments at Lop Nur & CAEP facilities. What might explain this seeming softening of Beijing’s resistance to nuclear engagement? cnn.com/2026/10/06/politics/…

This fellow's own party sold off the assets of the same 'nation-state' over several decades. The country lacks solid 'foundations' largely for this reason.
"Mass immigration without integration will destroy our culture, and it will destroy the foundations of our nation-state." Speaking at the Conservative Party conference, shadow home secretary Chris Philp says this sentiment is not "racist or far right" but "common sense."

This is really quite the contradiction, and its not clear the British government have even conceived of it:
On the one hand being told to prepare for war with Russia, yet on the other hand Scotland (net exporter of renewable energy) is told it will have more targets painted on its landscape in the form of nuclear power stations, supplied with Russian Uranium, in an age of drones. 🤪

So much for the famous "nuclear umbrella". Remarkable how little faith pro-Trident parties have in so-called nuclear deterrence.
The Tories new Britannia Shield seemingly won’t cover Orkney and Shetland. Why are the Conservatives happy to leave the Northern Isles vulnerable to attack?!

It cannot be overstated how every one of these tankers going down either in Europe or the Middle East is its own massive ecological disaster. Once you add them all up we’re talking about ecocide at that point. We’re killing everything with these wars. Not just us.
A Russian oil tanker is burning off Sochi this evening, likely a result of a Ukrainian attack. This will be very difficult to put out.

Dounreay Average lifetime load factor 26.9%. Ongoing decommissioning £8B (not including waste storage). Site decommissioning 40 years behind schedule (2070). Site becomes reusable in 2333.
From Chapel Cross to Dounreay, Scotland has a proud history of nuclear power. Power that Scots support. I do not want any part of Great Britain to miss out on the global nuclear revolution that is underway. That is why we will legislate to ensure that Scotland can host new nuclear power generation.

"To be free, one must be feared" is the mindset of abusers and sociopaths. This while Macron's febrile leadership is utterly rejected by the youth of his nation. That is nuclear weapons ideology in a nutshell. Sheer amorality disguising self-immolation.
France test fired its new M51.3 ballistic missile for the first time, launched from the nuclear-powered submarine Le Vigilant. Macron watched from the frigate Auvergne. Macron: "This technical success is a new demonstration of the credibility of our deterrence, whose sustainability is assured. To be free, one must be feared. And to be feared, one must be powerful."

"Nuclear Energy, however expensive, is relatively cheap!" Funny when the Scottish government is accused of being 'ideological' on nuclear power, when these are its advocates!
Replying to @ewangibbs
Nuclear Energy, however expensive, is reliable and relatively cheap! This is a perfect excuse to disobey the ghost of Donald Dewar!

In a very public performance, the US removed its air force bombers from the UK's RAF Fairford today, ostensibly due to a terrorism threat. The British government insists that the RAF base is totally safe. Who's right? This is probably little more than a bullying tactic designed to put more pressure on the British government to do its bidding, regardless of the weakness of this particular case. Britain is the European centre of the US war machine and RAF Fairford, its home base. The British airfield acts as the headquarters for the US 501st Combat Support Wing and the 420th Air Base Squadron. Housing the headquarters of a foreign country's military units is the picture of vassaldom. If the withdrawal is permanent then all antiwar activists should celebrate. My latest Substack details the strange events concerning RAF Fairford that have unfolded over the past week. Read it here: tariqali1943.substack.com/p/…

100+ bodies recovered from site of a 2023 terror-bombing, three years after the crime. Extrapolate to a whole city of rubble. How many are unaccounted for?
It took 1071 days to recover the bodies of 105 Palestinians from the rubble of a residential block Israel bombed in 2023 Here's the moment Israel carpet bombed that area, in what is known as "fire belt bombing"
