Scout AI is proud to welcome General Bryan P. Fenton, U.S. Army (Ret.), as a Senior Advisor. General Fenton served as the 13th Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command, leading 70,000 Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine special operations personnel worldwide. Before SOCOM, he commanded the Joint Special Operations Command, served as Senior Military Assistant to two Secretaries of Defense, and was Deputy Commander of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. A career Green Beret, he spent 38 years in uniform and commanded at every level of special operations. Few people understand the demands placed on the operator better than he does. At SOCOM he championed a simple truth: humans are more important than hardware. That belief sits at the center of what we build. Fury, our family of defense foundation-model agents, exists so that one operator can command many systems through intent, with the machines handling the tasking, coordination, and replanning, even when comms and GPS are denied. General Fenton will advise Scout AI on mission relevance, operational fit, and how we serve the warfighter as we scale. Welcome to the team, sir.

Scout AI just raised a $100M Series A that we co-led at @DraperVC. They’re building an AI model called Fury that operates military vehicles and drones with real intelligence. They’ve already secured $11M in DoD contracts and are one of 20 autonomy companies embedded with the Army's 1st Cavalry Division. Scout AI's CTO @collinotis made a point that stuck with me. These autonomous systems can be constrained to a specific geographic zone, or locked to require human confirmation before any action. The AI doesn’t act unilaterally. That matters to us. The question of who controls autonomous defense systems, and how, is one of the most important design questions of this decade. Scout is thinking about it seriously.
