A new audit found that more than 100 contracts handed to community groups after George Floyd were wide open to fraud. Contractors submitted invoices with barely any documentation, and the city sometimes kept paying even when records were missing. This is what defund the police actually looked like, with cops pushed out and tax dollars shoveled to groups with almost no accountability. The city's response was to thank the auditor for the thoughtful recommendations, as if that fixes anything.
