Crypto always talks about lowering fees.
But what if saving a few cents isn’t actually what users care about most?
@WalletConnect surveyed 1,442 verified crypto users and gave them two choices:
$4.60 with a more detailed checkout
or
$5.00 with a simple one-tap experience.
You’d expect people to pick the cheaper option.
But 72% chose to pay more.
That stood out to me because it says a lot about where crypto payments need to go.
People don’t necessarily want to think about every little detail behind a transaction. Sometimes they just want to see how much they’re paying, tap once, and move on.
And 67% said they want only the final amount shown by default.
It reminds me of why things like Apple Pay feel so natural. There can be a lot happening underneath, but the user doesn’t need to deal with all of it every single time.
That’s the kind of experience WalletConnect Pay is aiming for 👏🏻💙
