the iOS simulator camera is a grey box now. tried a virtual camera tool, the simulator never looks at it
so I gave up on the camera and sent my webcam over localhost instead. works embarrassingly well

to be clear about what this isn't: it doesn't fix AVCaptureSession. it swaps your take-a-photo screen in debug sim builds so you can test everything after the shutter. permission prompt and the real camera UI still need a phone
