Joined a roundtable today with @SenJohnHoeven , @RepFedorchak , @NDagriculture Commissioner Goehring today hosted by @SecretaryBurgum to gather information from local landowners and discuss potential solutions to landowners’ concerns. I’m convinced there are no biologists, chemists, geologists, or anyone else who can match the enormous intellectual understanding of how all this works more than the landowners, the farmers, and the generations of people who have farmed the land. The wrap-up is simply that progress is being made. I’m encouraged by it, and I hope you are as well. I’m looking forward to an outcome that allows me a little room to loosen up on some of the holds I have on people that the administration wants confirmed. Thank you @VCSU for hosting us.

This is a good first step from @Interior to fix the @USFWS administrative taking from landowners. The bureaucracy gobbled up productive agriculture land by designating puddles and divots as wetlands while ignoring the obvious lakes and ponds originally put under easement decades ago. Farmers and ranchers will now be able to fix their maps, but more work remains. The FWS Biden rule claims massive buffers around each of these wetlands when they never paid for any of it.
