Today, I pay tribute to a dear friend and juggernaut for labor who began a well-deserved retirement—AFSCME President Lee Saunders. For nearly 50 years, Lee was on the front lines for every labor issue imaginable: equal pay, better benefits, safer working conditions, & more. AFSCME couldn’t have elected a better president to stand up for their rights, and I’m proud to have had the privilege of standing shoulder to shoulder with him on so many issues.
