Thousands of bottles of a generic diuretic used for high blood pressure and fluid retention are being recalled after failed testing.
India-based Inventia Healthcare Limited is pulling 13,567 bottles of 25-milligram chlorthalidone nationwide because of a “failed dissolution specification,” meaning the active ingredient did not dissolve properly and may not be absorbed as intended.
The FDA classified the Sept. 3 recall as Class II on Sept. 17, a category in which exposure may cause temporary or medically reversible harm and the chance of serious harm is remote.
