Can AI enhance the way parliaments work? Speaking at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Cape Town, Senator Rosemary Moodie highlighted how artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance the way parliaments work, from summarizing and analyzing policy documents to preparing plain-language briefing materials. At the Windsor and Detroit ports of entry, senators heard about lessons learned and the positive impact that the decades-long Gordie Howe International Bridge project and its opening have had on the region and its communities. Senators @SenMacDonald and Suze Youance were in Michigan last week as part of the Canada-U.S. Inter-Parliamentary Group mission to Detroit and Lansing, that brought together parliamentarians, Michigan state legislators and industry leaders from sectors ranging from tech to farming. Discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining strong ties between Michigan and Canadian officials, while also recognizing the close family and community ties that exist within the Lake Erie border region. The Canadian delegation joined members of the Detroit community at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial for the 9/11 Service of Remembrance: 25th Anniversary ceremony. #SenCA @ParlDiplomacy @CanBorder @GordieHoweBrg @MichiganCentral
