Earlier this week, I visited the Minidoka National Historic Site, where more than 120,000 Japanese Americans were incarcerated during World War II. Minidoka holds deep significance for Idaho and the Japanese American community. I was proud to help stop the disastrous Lava Ridge Wind Project and protect this historic site and surrounding landscape from massive wind turbines.

This inaugural Honor Flight brought out Idaho’s Vietnam and Korean War veterans who are a living testimony of courage, patriotism, and duty. I took a moment to pay my respects to our North Idaho veterans in Bonners Ferry this week. Idaho veterans put everything on the line to defend our freedoms, and I am grateful for their dedicated service to our country. That’s why I’m working to ensure North Idaho’s veterans can access their earned benefits, make improvements to their veterans home, and be laid to rest with honor in their home state.
