America has a gun With (very few) apologies to Brian Bilston England is CCTV. France, a cop with lock and key. Greece, once free, now bends the knee. But, America has a gun. Sweden jails the ones who fight. Germany fines bad words at night. Spain forbids the wrong to write. But, America has a gun. Holland fines what words you say. Canada takes your knives away. Australia says, "you must Obey." While America has a gun. Japan will bow and not resist. Scotland bans what they won’t miss. Freedom bleeds, but still exists Because America has a gun. Better risk the fatal cost Than find that liberty was lost. The price is high, The fight, embossed Because America has a gun.

I like your version much better than Bilston's silly poem. His is pointless whining. Yours makes a point and makes it well. By the way, Japan is not presently going in the direction of surrender. They are choosing the American way: we will live.

You're right, I did write this a few years ago on sub stack in response to somebody posting the same poem

This is great except Japan is still with us. Everything else is spot on. Well done!

Japan is still with us, but they don't have a second amendment. That's all I was saying. Besides, I originally wrote this like a year and a half ago on substack when someone posted the original poem

"with apologies to..." Is a very old convention for signaling a parody and where the original came from.

One should remember every time Blue Tribe Europeans call us Barbarians, to be a barbarian is infinitely better than being a slave.

And when the barbarian is at the gate. And the streets are full of fear and hate. The cries for justice and freedom, Will not someone help? America comes Because America has the gun.

Why do you think democrats politicize every little shooting incident, every psychopath, to push and disarm America. They will trample over the bodies of children to push it. Because they want to do things you would shoot them for.

While I appreciate your poem and I get that you were keeping the initial sentiment (America is a gun) - the entire conceit on Bilston's part is bullshit to begin with, since America is so omnipresent on the world stage on so many different levels, attempting to reduce her to a gun is...a joke. I'm sure you know that, of course. But, Brian is obviously writing from a place of envy and he doesn't look pithy...he looks pathetic.

America has a gun, it is more than a gun, and all the things that America is it can defend because it has a gun.

We fought for over 250 years to remain "A gun!" If you care to believe that Americans have spent the last 65 years fighting gun control because we love our guns, you're only partly correct. Most of us fight to keep our guns because we understand it's our line of defence to keep our country safe from tyrants and invaders. We spent the last 100 years protecting our allies, and over half of them forgot how to defend themselves. It's very fresh in our minds.

A warrior in the garden is about to go back to the field. Let none of us forget what it took our ancestors collectively to become a free nation. Call me a Christian nationalist but it was God's hand on us and who spared us and still he allows us to continue in our ways. Let no man forget our duty is to Christ our redeemer not to any man or government. The time for very good men to do some very horrible things is soon upon us. Those who have ears to her let them hear. Jesus returns soon. We are in the last seconds of this fallen world.
