“Plexus is a narrow, esoteric, geometric worm typeface.” Its applications are boundless, just as its limits are obvious. “It is very minimalist, very rounded—very illegible!” With characteristic humor, Marc advises typographers, “To be safe, I suggest using it for everything but dictionaries and road signage.”

Plexus’ construction rules presented a creative challenge. The original phototype reference is primarily constructed of vertical & diagonal strokes, all rounded, without any sharp edges. “I included more horizontals to update the construction of narrow characters like /L /T and /1,” says @marcrouault He tested Plexus’ letterforms through the use of a classic Hollenstein testing phrase: “Hachez 2 gousses d’ail.” (“Smash 2 garlic claws.”)
