This week, we come together as an industry to recognize Construction Suicide Prevention Week and raise awareness about the disproportionately high suicide rates in construction. In the U.S., construction workers are four times more likely to die by suicide than the average American.
Breaking the stigma starts with creating a culture where it’s OK to ask for help. We provide training and resources, share coping strategies, ensure access to support, and work to create a culture of care where every person on our jobsites feels valued and supported.
This week, our teams across the country will join the nationwide stand-down to honor those we’ve lost to suicide and take part in Suicide Prevention Toolbox Talks focused on prevention, recognizing the signs, and connecting people with support.
