i think what makes flight such a good movie for me is the question it raises about how many people in society are functioning addicts or alcoholics. i just watched puncture with chris evans, where he plays an addict lawyer who was still incredibly good at his job as long as he was high. people like that really do exist, and that’s what makes these stories so interesting to me

Co Pilot: “How you feeling today sir?” Pilot: “Well, feeling like if anything catastrophic happens, I’m the only gah damn pilot in the world, that can do acrobats with a plane, that no other pilot can do in a stimulation. You cool wid that? [pause]MY MAN!!” *Hits more oxygen*

Can we stop with the extra intensity from a metronome throughout the clip. The scenes are so good you can let them stand on their own.

That “I was drunk” line still hits. Denzel makes Whip both the guy who somehow lands the plane and the guy you can’t fully root for, and the movie only works because he sells both at once.

You ever notice Denzel always plays roles with straight edge square White guys who are by the books or on their first day and Denzel always shows a corrupt or abrasive way of doing things to these White guys I wonder why that’s usually the case with a lot of his movies Training Day is another example.

I watched the movie, and it would have been even better if there had been a plumber in the cabin…

Well, you aren't very smart. Nothing about this movie is close to reality, especially Denzel's behavior (from a 40 year military pilot, test pilot, and airlune pilot). It's amazing that anyone is dmb enough to believe anything about this movie.

If I’m not mistaken wasn’t there something wrong with the plane. It malfunctioned but because he was under the influence he was still held liable right? He saved lives but shouldn’t have been intoxicated.

This film captures the reality of what it’s like to be a heavy drinker absolutely perfectly. The only other performance that comes close is Ben Affleck in the way back.

Watched it before and after I got sober. Didn't get the ending until the 2nd time. Hard to watch as someone with alcoholism but his speech at the end when he's in prison gives me chills every time.
