In 2009, The famous Italian diver Enzo Maiorca dived into the sea near Syracuse. He was with his daughter Rosana on the boat. While diving, he felt a light blow on his back.
He turned around and saw a dolphin. He realized that the dolphin didn't want to play but was trying to communicate something. The animal dove down, and Enzo followed. At a depth of about 15 meters, another dolphin was trapped in an abandoned net.
Maiorca quickly asked his daughter for the diving knife. In a few minutes, they managed to free the dolphin, who let out an "almost human cry" as Maiorca described it.
A dolphin can survive underwater for up to 10 minutes before suffocating. After being freed, still dazed, the dolphin, Enzo, Rosana, and the first dolphin resurfaced. Then it turned out to be a female dolphin who gave birth to a baby dolphin shortly afterward.
The dolphin father made a circle, swam to Enzo, touched his face like a kiss, as a gesture of gratitude... and swam away.
After everything that had happened, Enzo said: "Until man learns to respect nature and communicate with the animal world, he will never know his true role on Earth!"

This is incredibly affecting advertising! Much of that credit should go to actor Brenna Harding who delivers that phenomenal monologue in response to a generic, 'How're you doing' greeting. The writing is inspired by the real-life experience of 37-year-old Bec Chan. The idea is to challenge the familiar breast cancer narrative that people go back to living their normal after active treatment ends.

Everyone has a fanboy inside. I’ve been a different kind of fanboy. The one who roots for curd rice, or Thayir Sadam as we call it. I feel it’s the most useful invention made by a South Indian. It doesn’t have the swag of a burger or the chic of pasta, but a lovingly served Thayir Sadam is the panacea for all evil. Thayir Sadam is so calming that no curd rice fellow can ever go to war.

Oh man, I had no idea Kenny Rogers sang “The Gambler” with Phish!
This was at Bonnaroo in 2012.
In interviews, Kenny said Phish came to his dressing room and asked if he would join them onstage for a song, and he said yes.
Kenny said Phish was one of those groups he had heard of but didn’t really know, and that it wasn’t until then that he realized how big they were.
Kenny had performed his own set earlier that afternoon in one of Bonnaroo’s large tents.
Later that night, he joined Phish on the main stage to sing in front of 70,000 people..
Kenny said the last time he had performed for a crowd that big was probably in the mid 80s.

I remember this so distinctly from my childhood.
The Ganesh idol was brought in cloaked, its face covered, and without the band, baaja and general fanfare
There was a pooja at the ‘sthapana’, the installation of the idol.
THIS WAS the tradition!
The festivities, processions and dancing were reserved ONLY for immersion day

For 4-5 weekends before Ganesh Chaturthi, large idols are being transported to various pandals from the workshops with full processions, music and crowds
Entire streets are shut down. Traffic is gridlocked. Residents in the entire neighbourhood are effectively placed under house arrest.
Not once. Every single weekend. For over a month
Surely faith and consideration for everyone else can coexist?
If we’re invoking tradition, then perhaps follow the tradition. Bring the idol from the workshop to the pandal quietly, respectfully and efficiently. Save the glorious noise, dancing and celebration for immersion day, as it was always done.
Celebrating your faith is absolutely your right.
But repeatedly bringing an entire neighbourhood to a standstill cannot be a prerequisite for doing so.
There has to be a reasonable middle ground.

Three girls from a conservative village in Garut, Indonesia.
In 2014 they were 14. They found System of a Down on a school computer. A teacher said start a band. They did.
Then the village answered.
