ویسے تو ایک طویل فہرست ہے مگر تین ایسے کارنامے ہیں اگر وہ تحریک ا نصاف کی حکومت نہ کرتی تو عوام کی ہڈیاں اب تک نچوڑ ی جاچکی ہوتی اور ملک کا دوالیہ نکل چکا ہوتا ۔ اور افسوس یہ کہ ا نکی زیادہ تشہر بھی نہیں کی جاتی ۔ اعدادوشمار سے ا ن تین عظیم کاموں کی تفصیل دیکھتے ہیں ۔ 1) سال 2009 میں جب لوڈشیڈ نگ کا بحرا ن شدید تھا تو پیپلزپارٹی حکومت نے ترک کمپنی کارکے سے رینٹل پاور پلا نٹ کا معاہدہ کیا۔ جسے 2012 میں معطل کر دیا گیا ۔ کارکے کمپنی اس فیصلے کے خلاف عالمی عدالت چلی گئی اور 2017 میں عالمی عدالت نے اسکے حق میں فیصلہ دے دیا اور حکومت پاکستان پر 800 ملین ڈالر جرمانہ کردیا جس پر ماہانہ 59 کروڑ سود تھا۔ سال 2019 تک یہ جرمانہ 1.2 ارب ڈالر ہو چکا تھا۔ اس وقت وزیر اعظم عمران خان نے ترک صدر رجب طیب اردگان سے خصوصی درخواست کی اور یہ جرمانہ معاف کروا کر اس مصیبت سے نجات دلوائی ۔ اب اندازہ کریں کہ ایک ڈیڑھ ارب ڈالر کی قسط لینے کے لیے ائی ایم ایف کی کیسی کیسی شرائط ماننی پڑتی ہیں اور عوام پر بھاری ٹیکس لگانے پڑتے ہیں ۔ اگر یہ جرمانہ معاف نہ ہوتا تو یہ پیسے سرکاری خزانے سے جانے تھے اور بوجھ عوام پر ہی پڑنا تھا 2) سال 1993 میں حکومت نے ایک اسٹریلین کمپنی کے ساتھ بلوچستان مین سونے کے زخائر نکالنے کا معاہدہ کیا جس کے تحت کمپنی کا حصہ 75 فیصد اور حکومت کا حصہ 25 فیصد تھا۔ سال 2011 میں بلوچستان کی حکومت نے اس کمپنی کی لیز منسوخ کردی جس پر کمپبی ورلڈ بنک عدالت چلی گئی ۔ سال 2017 میں عدالت نے حکومت پاکستان کا موقف مسترد کرتے ہوئے اربوں ڈالر کا جرمانہ کردیا جو بڑھتے بڑھتے 12 ارب ڈالر تک پہنچ گیا ۔ اس وقت تحریک انصاف کی حکومت نے کامیابی سے مزاکرت کیے اور وہ جرمانہ معاف کروا کر اس کمپنی کے ساتھ دوبارہ معاہدہ کیا جس کے تحت کمپنی کا حصہ کم کر کے 50 فیصد کروایا گیا جبکہ بقیہ میں سے 25 فیصد بلوچستان حکومت اور 25 فیصد وفاق کا حصہ کروایا ۔ یہ یقینا بہت بڑی کامیابی تھی جسے اس لیول کی پزیرائی نہیں مل سکی ۔ پاکستان میں جعلی دانشوروں کے نزدیک پندرہ بیس ارب کے پل سڑکیں بہت بڑا پراجیکٹ تصور ہوتا ہے جبکہ پرانی حکومتوں کی نااہلی کا دس بارہ ارب ڈالر کا جرمانہ معاف کروانا کوئی بات ہی نہیں ۔ تصور کریں اگر حکومت یہ جرمانے ادا کرنے پر مجبورہو جاتی تو مہنگائی کا کیا لیول ہوتا ۔ ڈیفالٹ تو کب کا ہو چکا ہوتا۔ مگر حکومت کو داد دینے کی بجائے اسکے خلاف پراپیگنڈہ کیا گیا۔ 3) تحریک انصاف کی حکومت میں جب ہر چند ماہ بعد بجلی کی قیمتیں بڑھانی پڑتی تو وزیر اعظم عمران خان نے اسکا نوٹس لیا اور ایک اعلی سطح کمیٹی بنائی ۔ پتا چلا کہ پچھلی حکومتیں ائی پی پیز سے ایسے خوفناک معاہدے کر کے گئی ہیں جس کے تحت بجلی مہیا ہو یا نہ ہو انکو ڈالروں میں ادائیگی ہوتی رہے گی ۔ اب یہ معاہدے کینسل تو کر نہیں سکتے تھے کیونکہ پہلے ہی کارکے اور ریکودیک معاہدے منسوخ کرنے پر اربوں ڈالر کے جرمانوں کا سامنا تھا ۔ عمران خان حکومت نے کامیابی کے ساتھ کئی ائی پی پیز کو معاہدوں میں ردوبدل پر راضی کیا اور ادائیگیوں کے لیے ڈالر ریٹ کو 148 پر فکس کروا دیا ۔ ایک محتاط اندازے کے مطابق اس سے حکومت کو سالانہ 120 ارب روپے کا فائدہ ہوا اور ائندہ چند سالوں تک مجموعی 836 ارب روپے کے فائدہ کا تمخینہ ہے۔ اب اندازہ لگائیں 836 ارب میں کتنے پل سڑکیں بن سکتی ہیں۔ مگر افسوس متعصب میڈیا اس عظیم کامیابی کو وہ پزیرائی نہ دے سکا جو اسکا حق تھا۔ افسوس ہماری عوام کو سکھایا گیا کہ صرب پل سڑکیں ہی کامیاب پراجیکٹ ہوتے ہیں۔ کیونکہ وہ نظر اجاتے ہیں چاہے ان میں کرپشن ہو ، یا وہ غیر ضروری ہوں۔ کامیاب سفارتکاری اور حکومتی مداخلت سے جو اربوں ڈالر کا فائدہ کروایا گیا وہ کسی کھاتے میں ہی نہیں اتا۔ اس لیے جعلی دانشور دھڑلے سے ٹی وی پر بیٹھ کر کہہ دیتے ہیں کہ تحریک انصاف حکومت کا کوئی پراجیکٹ ہی نہیں۔ سڑکیں بھی بنی ، پل بھی ، یونیورسٹیاں بھی اور ہسپتال بھی سب تفصیل موجود ہے ۔ لنگر خانے بھی چلے اور پناہ گاہیں بھی کھلیں ۔ ہر پاکستانی کے پاس دس لاکھ روپے کا صحت کارڈ بھی تھا اور نوکریاں بھی اتنی ملی کہ فیصل اباد جیسے شہر میں مزدور ملنا مشکل ہو گیا تھا۔ کئی نئے ڈیموں پر کام شروع ہوا اور اس دھائی کو ڈیموں کی دھائی کہا گیا اگر وہ منصوبے وقت پر مکمل ہو جائیں تو عوام کو سستی بجلی مل سکے گی ۔ کسان نے اتنی ترقی کی کہ تین سال میں وہ سب بنا لیا جو دہایوں میں نہیں بنا سکے تھے ۔ تعمیرات کے شعبے میں انقلاب اگیا تھا غرض یہ کہ ہر شعبہ ترقی پر تھا۔ تھوڑی بہت مہنگائی تھی مگر معشیت بہترین 6 فصد گروتھ پر تھی ۔ 1/2

Pakistan hosted the U.S.-Iran negotiations in Islamabad for one overriding reason: survival. A day before the talks began, Saudi Arabia and Qatar announced $5 billion in financial assistance to Pakistan. The same day, Saudi Arabia’s defence ministry confirmed that Pakistani fighter jets had landed at King Abdulaziz Air Base under the mutual defence pact signed in September 2025. These two important details reveal the transactional nature of the Pakistan-Saudi-Qatar relations that put Pakistan in an precarious position. Pakistan shares a 900km border with Iran. It has watched Iranian ballistic missiles and drones strike Saudi and GCC targets for weeks. Its economy is in intensive care, dependent on IMF lifelines and Gulf deposits to keep foreign reserves above collapse thresholds. It cannot afford a war with Iran. Militarily, Pakistan has the hardware. Financially, it would be ruined. The 2025 defence pact with Saudi Arabia states that aggression against one is aggression against both. That pact now obliges Pakistan to act. Saudi Arabia has been struck almost daily by Iran for more than a month now. Mediation was Pakistan’s escape route. A successful deal in Islamabad would have ended the war and neutralised the pact’s trigger. No war means no obligation to get involved and no Iranian missiles aimed at Pakistani soil. Pakistan gets to keep the $5 billion, stay out of the conflict, and maintain relations with Tehran. But the talks have failed. Vance left Islamabad without a deal after 21 hours of negotiations. The ceasefire is fragile and Strait of Hormuz remains contested. Now Pakistan faces the worst of all outcomes. It has taken the money. Its jets are on Saudi soil. The defence pact is active. And the war is not over. $5 billion does not cover the cost of a war with Iran. It barely covers Pakistan’s debt repayment to the UAE this month. It is a down payment on compliance, not compensation for the devastation that would follow. Pakistan must now make a choice: honour the pact and enter a war it cannot sustain, or refuse and break with Riyadh. There is no middle ground left.

The Israeli-American aggression against Lebanon did not stop on 27/11/2024, and the Israeli enemy did not honor the agreement; rather, it continued its aggression uninterrupted for fifteen months. It has become clear that we face two choices: either surrender and relinquish the land, dignity, sovereignty, and the future of our generations or inevitable confrontation and resistance to the occupation to prevent it from achieving its goals. They were displaced as a contribution to the struggle, endured as those who sacrifice and resist, offered their dearest ones with pride and acceptance, and suffered far from their homes and normal lives the greatest of suffering in order to build a free and honorable future for their homeland and children. Aggression is the problem and the danger; the Resistance is the hope and the liberation. The responsibility of confronting aggression is a national responsibility for all — government, people, army, forces, sects, parties, and every citizen. The Israeli-American aggression seeks to strip Lebanon of its strength, control its policies, and determine the future of its children. #Pakistan granted the USA use of its soil, seaports and airspace to bomb #Afghanistan for 20+ years. I was in #Kabul when US cruise missiles landed. I was there when US planes bombed. They killed thousands of their own people in KPK at America’s behest. That’s what caused the rise of the #TTP - which committed its own atrocities. The Pak army and ISI kidnapped, detained, tortured and sold 1000s of innocent people to the Americans for bounty money. Palestinian #AbuZubaydah was among them. #AafiaSiddiqui and her children were among them. I was among them. They burst into my home in the middle of the night with their #CIA masters and took me at gunpoint, while my wife and young children watched, terrified. Years passed but the very people they sold out in Afghanistan came back to power stronger, defeating America and its allies through patience and perseverance. They now rule the country. Instead of making amends for their past treachery and building relations based on mutual respect, intrinsic corruption and envy couldn’t bare to see Afghanistan building its own future, beginning the road to recovery and prosperity for once. Boasting to the world about its military, with its arsenal of weapons and nuclear capabilities, Pakistan has only used its military against its own people over the past 30 years. Meanwhile, #Kashmir remains occupied, its daughters violated and its men imprisoned and butchered by Modi’s BJP #Hindutva forces. #Gaza, the West Bank and Al Quds are occupied and obliterated while Pakistan’s military join their impotent Arab and Turkish allies in giving lip service or organising protests instead of defending Gaza with their powerful militaries. Non of their ballistic missiles, long range bombers or fighters threaten the murderous #Zionist state. None of their sophisticated anti-aircraft systems are utilised or sent to protect the #Palestinians. Instead, in one of the most embarrassing displays of global sycophancy ever seen Pakistani leader Shehbaz Sharif nominated #DonaldTrump for the Nobel Peace Prize, right after the Gaza genocide, knowing the USA arms, trains, finances, excuses and backs Israeli war crimes at every level. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Afghanistan many times since the US withdrawal. My work has focused on trying to get prisoners freed from US prisons like #Guantanamo, where people like Afghan Muhammad Rahim remain without charge or trial after 24 years. He too was handed over to the #CIA by Pakistan for a fee. When his young children asked to see their father for the last time, the #ISI agents beat them and kicked them down the stairs. That was the last time they saw their father. They are now grown men. The scars are indelible. My investigations have taken me to drug rehabilitation centres in Afghanistan to speak to eyewitnesses fighting addiction resulting from war trauma, neglect and depression. The work done in these centres cannot be overstated. People’s lives have been turned around and the drug addiction epidemic, which grew exponentially during the US occupation, has been eradicated through these hospitals. Pakistan’s targeting of these places is a war crime. But Pakistan’s past actions are also war crimes. Long ago, Pakistan had the potential of being a role model of justice, honour, faith and dignity but it has consistently proved to be the opposite. That dream is dead - for now. The cancer of corruption, nationalism and lack or principles has overtaken and they it needs reform, replacement and a new beginning. When that day comes, everything will change forever. I pray its soon.

Speaking to several people involved on all sides, I believe I have gotten to the bottom of the story about Pezeshkian's video message - and how Trump blew up a golden opportunity to de-escalate the war. Here's what happened: Regional efforts at de-escalation in the war had convinced Iran to gradually adjust its regional retaliation conduct. In a first step, the Iranian President, as head of the interim leadership council, announced that attacks on neighboring countries would cease as long as their territories wouldn't be used to attack Iran. This is why Pezeshkian issued that video statement (although he went further in his statement, but that's another matter). Regional states were then expected to respond in kind. This would, understandably, take a few hours, as they were monitoring whether Iran's attacks were being reduced. But before they could reciprocate the reconciliatory tone and take regional de-escalation to the next level, Trump issued his Truth Social post that declared victory, insulted and humiliated Iran, and even issued further threats of “complete destruction and certain death“.  To make matters worse, the US also crossed another red line shortly thereafter by attacking the water desalination plant at Qeshm Island. (This is incidentally a war crime according to Article 54 of the First Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions) Trump's actions deliberately or inadvertently sabotaged the sensitive de-escalation talks in the region, which is why there was also an uptick by prominent GCC accounts blaming Trump for the war. Had Trump not done this, chances are that, at a minimum, the regional widening of this war would have been halted and reversed. With last night’s attacks by Israel on Iran‘s oil infrastructure, we can only assume how Iran may retaliate. We’ve entered a new phase of this high-intensity war.
