A UK passport must meet two conditions:
On day of entry to the EU, issued less than 10 years ago. On intended day of exit from EU, at least 3 months left before expiry date.

Gatwick airport's runway has reopened after a 50-minute closure "due to a technical issue with a departing aircraft". The Norse Boeing 787 to New York aborted its take off halfway down the runway, where it remained for 37 minutes until it was towed away and the runway inspected.
