🪄🔑 It got cracked! 3 years ago I posted this puzzle. Various ppl have tried to crack it. Lately I got a couple DMs asking for clues. 21 hours ago it was swept ⚡️ 🧵 1/10

. @Turjaun985 posted yesterday that it was swept & being tired I didn’t refresh the wallet duh, and replied sats still there 😅 He wrote again & today I refreshed the wallet! 0 sats My heart skipped a beat, or a few tbh. 369,369 were always there. Now they aren’t. 2/10

The seed was 12 words, generated in @bluewalletio I hid it amongst 70 BIP-39 words and invited the internet to crack it. I was wanting to see whether it could be a valid way to secure a seed while traveling/fleeing. 3/10

I gave two clues, perhaps it was two too many. 1. The seed is 12 words. 2. All but two words are in order. I reposted a few times over the years, and here and there someone would comment. People found a couple valid seeds amongst the 70 words, but none held funds. 4/10

A month ago I reposted Received a couple DMs asking for clues, which I didn’t offer I just checked my DM “Requests” & turns out there were a bunch of others asking (here’s a few). My post must have been seen or reposted somewhere that ppl are working on stuff like this 🤷‍♀️ 5/10

And some more. What’s interesting is that a few of them cracked it after it was swept. 7/10

As mentioned in the OP, @Turjaun985 posted yesterday saying it was swept & I erroneously replied it wasn’t. Today I verified that yes, the sats are gone. Congrats to the person who got their AI to grind hard enough. Since that’s the new world eh! Kinda freaky tbh. 8/10

Some thoughts: Without the two clues, it *might* have taken longer. With a larger set of obscuring words, it *might* have taken longer. A 24-word seed *would* have taken longer. Regardless, AI can now crack shit like this. 9/10

Final thought: I still think this is a valid way to travel/flee w/ a seed if needed, far better than plaintext imo That said, increased complexity increases risk. Always have backups, understand your setups & revisit every 6 months to be *sure* you know it inside & out 10/10
