Here's the thing. When I was 14, my brother is 12 years older than me.
So I was hanging out with an older crowd.
What I would hear all the time was, "don't date minors. "
"14 gets you 20."
Which i think is a good crowd when they said that.
I thought that meant me also. The 14 year old.
So i was afraid to talk to other girls and missed out on dating because I was afraid to approach girls because i thought it was a societal rule teenagers shouldn't date other teenagers.
So my first kiss was 17 but i ran home, told my mom I'm going to jail. It was so silly cause years of my older brother group of friends being misplaced. I ignored the girl.
Then my first girlfriend was 19 with another 19 year old. I felt safe.
But here's the thing. This is happening to so many young men now. They're online seeing older women telling and demanding them not to date, you're creepy, don't approach women and if you date a woman a little younger than you. 35 and 25.
You'll be demonized.
Young people are impressionable and will take it to absurd levels like I didn fearing a teenage romance with another teenager.
They're stealing young men's courage to date and by doing that taking a young womans chance of meeting someone her age and building a relationship together.
Let the young people find love with each other.
Let the young people have adventure.
Let them find modesty.
Discipline.
Courage and pride.
Teenagers need hope.
Let them yearn.
