The point here, is that relying on a statistic which has very little value, to attempt to prove or justify why the player in question should be in the lineup be is silly.
The value of that statistic is reserved for players of an elite level (ex., McDavid, MacKinnon, etc.) who deliver impactful results on the ice which are hard to replace, therefore their team suffers when they’re absent.
Matt Rempe is absolutely not one of those players.
On top of that, as per the folks at
@statmuse, when Rempe is not on the ice, the New York Rangers have had slightly more success than whenever he is:
• With Matt Rempe: 43-33-10, .500%.
• Without Matt Rempe: 87-66-10, .534%.
So, pointing at their record with him, as a lot of folks tend to do, would realistically be proving nothing.
Also, to answer what you said directly — at no point have I referred to the Rangers as a “juggernaut.”
