The Apple C2 modem is quite good and competitive. Apple has put that milestone behind it. Going in-house reduces modem cost and gives Apple more freedom to optimize performance at the system level. And with the current Qualcomm license agreement approaching its end, Apple may soon be driving hard at reducing its Qualcomm licensing costs as well. For years, skeptics kept saying modems are hard and doubting Apple could pull it off. They are hard. And they take time. Apple planned for both, stayed the course, and delivered.

I saw 2 tests and both of them C2 had lost, it only won inside of buildings I would argue that sticking with Qualcomm would be a better choice until they can develop a VISIBLY better modem
