A big part of why media literacy is so bad rn is because many people can’t imagine someone writing a character or scene that doesn’t exactly align with their personal beliefs. A woman’s corpse is not featured in the movie because the writer hates women.
The shot in Obsession of Sarah’s dead body in the house is the image that’s lingered with me from that movie the most because of how misogynistic and mean-spirited it is. Basically every time I think about that movie I like it less

Lanterns is fascinating cuz it may be the first example of a live action making a superhero way too realistic but it's still really really good and feels like a comic book. I can't think of any other example like it, it's just so interesting to think about.

I find it funny how according to dcu fans zack snyders stuff is bad because it’s not “comic accurate” but when lanterns comes out it’s all “Not everything has to be comic accurate”

Paul Baker is a queer character, and Jack Innanen has never pretended to be to be (or implied that he was) queer so this can’t be queerbaiting by any metric.
Queerbaiting doesn’t mean “when straight actors play LGBT roles”.
