PA electricity prices are up 41% in 5 years, 3rd-highest in the U.S. 1 in 5 households can't keep up.
An independent @TheBrattleGroup study (commissioned by SI2) found the real driver: rising gas prices + power plant costs — not solar, and not (yet) data centers.
Capacity prices are set to double in 2026 as data center demand grows. More solar + storage = the fix.

The SI2 team kicked off our 2026 #agrivoltaics case study series with a site visit to Big Lake 1 in Minnesota.
The SI2 team conducted interviews with multiple stakeholders involved in the agrivoltaics operation at Big Lake 1 to get a comprehensive perspective on what has made this project successful.

This innovative project features both crop production and pollinator habitat elements alongside solar energy production.
This research builds on SI2’s existing work and will identify strategies for successful agrivoltaics practices for stakeholders across the solar, agriculture, and utility sectors.

And that is exactly what our experts are working to advance.
Our research shows that 70% of farmers are open to combining solar with their farmland, as long as farming can continue. Building on this, our experts are currently leading case studies on working farms that have already integrated solar. Findings will be released this fall.
