The Q in Avalon Q Stands for Quiet Canaan sent SoloPool.com an Avalon Q to test and review publicly. Eight days in, here's the honest report. shop.canaan.io/products/aval… Build quality is in another class. Out of every home miner we've run, this is the best-built unit we've had on the bench. It's a compact server case, and the entire design is airflow — hex mesh front and back, straight-through path, no dead pockets. That's not styling for the sake of styling. It's why the Q holds its numbers instead of sagging under its own heat. Noise. There's a brief fan spin-up on boot, and then it disappears. Rated 45–65 dB, and in the real world it's barely audible in the room. If you've ever tried to live with an S19, this is a different universe. Performance beats the sticker. Nameplate is 90 TH/s ±5%. The Q wants its own dedicated circuit to run on high. Input is rated to 20 A, and at 1705 W you're pulling ~14 A at 120 V. That's over what you should be asking of a shared 15 A household circuit. Plan the outlet before the miner arrives. Heat is genuinely well contained for the hashrate. Warm exhaust, no hot spots, no thermal drift over the week. Surprising for a box this size doing 94 TH/s. Setup. The Avalon Family app found the unit, paired it, and had it configured in a couple of minutes — no laptop, no IP scanning. It runs the legendary, proven cgminer codebase (4.11.1), which means it connects fast, behaves properly on stratum, and doesn't argue. We ran it on the bundled WiFi dongle with zero issues — no drops, no share loss. Ethernet is on the front panel and if you have the choice, take it. But it's good to know WiFi is a real option and not a compromise. Pointed at stratum.solopool.com:3333: 196,449 accepted shares, 260 rejected, best share 16.51G. Clean.
