Trauma-informed sound Listening first Sound without demand Nothing is required US Navy Veteran

Ohio Valley
Released July 1, I Served continues to tell the stories I carried home from my time in the U.S. Navy. This album is about service, sacrifice, survival, resilience, and the realities veterans can carry long after the uniform comes off. I didn’t create I Served to chase a moment. I created it because these stories deserve to exist—and to be heard. 🎧 Listen on SoundCloud, Spotify & my YouTube channel, Julie Jewels Smoot. And I’m still telling the story. — Julie Jewels Smoot U.S. Navy Veteran | Sound Alchemist

Listen beyond the initial strike. Notice how the vibration expands, changes, fades, and eventually returns to silence. Sometimes the space after the sound is just as interesting as the sound itself.

Get comfortable before you begin. Sit, lie down, use blankets, support your knees, or change positions halfway through. There is no correct position for listening to a gong.

Don't chase a particular feeling during a gong session. Calm, restless, emotional, curious, distracted—whatever is present can simply be noticed. Your experience belongs to you.
