The Space Force's FY27 Interservice Transfer window opened Sept. 15 and closes Oct. 2. Active-duty Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines can apply to become Guardians. Priority selection goes to applicants assessed as not requiring retraining into space, intel, or cyber roles.

Those needing retraining are still considered. or medical hold makes a member ineligible. Selection notification is expected January 2027. Full process documents, MyVector instructions, crosswalk, and FAQ are posted on the Space Force transfer page.

Dark coat, distinctive Space Force blue accents, delta insignia. Distinctly Space Force. This matters more than it might appear. A uniform is how a military institution says we are a distinct thing with a distinct purpose.

The Space Force has spent six years making that distinction through its structure, its promotion system, its rank names, and now, its ceremonial dress. Each of those is a small act of deliberate identity-building. SFA exists to advocate for the Guardians building that culture.
