Pioneered in the 1970s & 80s by Profs Bill Hillier, Julienne Hanson & @alanpenn at @BartlettArchUCL, the 'space syntax' approach was conceived to help simulate the likely effects of urban planning & architectural design proposals on the people who occupied & moved around in them.
