Currently 30 and on a journey to be work optional by 40 | Financial Independence Retire Early

Way too many people think owning a home is required to "make it" Have we ever taken a step back and asked ourselves if this is simply because of marketing?

I鈥檝e heard of all the types of FIRE I鈥檝e heard of work optional Something about FINE, which I had never heard of, sounds very healthy and something a whole different group can probably relate to
Replying to @SparkingFIRENC
I鈥檝e come to the conclusion that it will likely be FINE (Financial independence next endeavor) than FIRE. I鈥檒l probably work on a golf course or do part time consulting work. Shoutout @moneyguyshow

NASCAR is underrated for how affordable it is: -$25 ticket -Pack a lunch (put some beer in the cooler if you want) -6 hours of action -$2 chili dogs if you need a snack If you need me, I鈥檒l be spending the rest of the day at Martinsville!

There are no guarantees of this happening each year But the down years won鈥檛 hurt all that much because of the buffer you have The flat years will be boring And the mega green years will feel like you鈥檙e on top of the world
Making 9% annually on a $10,000 portfolio is boring Making 9% annually on a $100,000 portfolio is exciting Making 9% annually on a $1,000,000 portfolio is life changing Keep stacking, Brick by brick. It gets more exciting as it grows

I will attend at least 52 races in my first year of retirement At least 2 international trips Compete in at least 200 iRacing races and 5 table tennis tournaments It might sound like I鈥檒l be a 40 year old trying to live like I鈥檓 in my early 20鈥檚 again That is kinda the point A lot of us lose the battle plot and lose our hobbies/interests along the way

I really think we will be a Highlander and Camry household
Odds are I'll get a new car in the next 24-36 months The question is, what kind of Toyota will it be?

The irony around wanting to retire early is that a lot of people think you're lazy, but in reality you work harder than them because you have a goal you are chasing

It is funny how many people get mad at me when I tell them what the cost of my lifestyle is It should be no surprise that someone who runs a FIRE account is very intentional about their spending

Supply chain is a great place to be right now if you're good at optimizing/problem solving
3 underrated areas for jobs right now (In my opinion) - Supply Chain - Procurement - Applied Intelligence Honorable mention: - Quality & Supplier Development (both technical and non technical) - Learning Technology / Ed Tech
