💔 17 YEARS OLD. This is absolutely heartbreaking. Xavier Nungaray, a senior at Benjamin Franklin High School in Los Angeles, died after falling from a fourth-floor walkway at school. Video taken shortly beforehand shows another student punching Xavier and knocking him to the classroom floor. Xavier gets back up and runs out of the room, with the other student following behind him. Moments later, Xavier went over the railing. His family says Xavier had been bullied during high school and was afraid to report it because he feared he would end up being punished. We cannot know exactly what Xavier was thinking in those final seconds. But after watching that video, I can't help wondering whether this terrified 17-year-old was simply trying to get away because he believed he was about to be hit again. As of the latest reports, the student who punched Xavier has not been publicly reported as arrested or charged. LAPD is still investigating. The Chicago judge who let a career criminal walk out the door before he allegedly killed 1 cop and wounded another just jailed two sheriff's deputies instead. Meet Cook County Judge John F. Lyke Jr. In December he released Alphanso Talley on an ankle monitor. Talley had 4 pending violent felony cases. Prosecutors wanted him held, and another judge had already ordered him held. Judge Lyke said he'd seen "attitude adjustments" and let him out anyway, then loosened the monitor so Talley could leave home for hours a day. Attitude adjustments. WOW. In April, Officer John Bartholomew was shot and killed. Talley is charged with his murder. Now, on Sept 9: * Two deputies wouldn't uncuff a "high-risk" murder defendant so he could hug his family without a sergeant's OK. * Judge Lyke had them taken into custody for contempt and stripped of their badges and gear. * He threatened them with up to 90 days in jail. * They were released only after apologizing. Judge Lyke's words: "I don't care what they are charged with. They are still presumed innocent." The deputies' union called it "an outrageous abuse of the court's authority." The Sheriff's office called it "completely unacceptable." So this judge freed the accused cop killer and locked up the deputies trying to keep a courtroom safe. He's up for retention in November 2028. Cook County, remember his name.

Who are these heroes? A race against the flames turns into a remarkable rescue when two Good Samaritans stop and help Florida deputies pull a woman from a burning vehicle. Footage released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office shows deputies working to free the woman before the two passersby rush in to help. Their assistance proves so “critical” that the sheriff’s office is now trying to track them down to personally thank them and recognize their courage. One person was hospitalized with burns following the crash, while another person in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
